ZDT is a great program to practice your vocabulary. Getting all the words in there can however be a bit tedious. The nice thing is that word lists can be easily exported and shared. You can send them in an email, copy them to a USB stick, or send them in to be included on the ZDT Word Lists page.
The program can create two kinds of files, the first one contains the vocab items of a single category. The second one can contain any number of categories (word lists).
Saving a single categorie to a file is called 'export'. Here's how to do it, in ZDT:
This will create a plain text file that you can send to your friends.
When using 'import' it will add all the words in the file to a single category, so you might want to create a new empty category to add them to first.
If everything went well you will see the words appearing in the category.
If you want to share more than a single category it's easier to use the backup/restore features.
Again the resulting file you just send to your friends so they can add the vocab to their own ZDT.
If you receive a file create with 'Backup' perform these steps to import the vocab.
You can choose not to add categories that already exist.
ZDT keeps stats about your progress : the number of times you got a word right or wrong, and the last time you trained it. These can be used to intelligently filter out words that you're already quite familiar with.
When exporting or importing vocab these statistics can be saved and restored as well. If you're importing categories that someone else created it's probably best not to import these statistics since they don't reflect your own progress.
